Scope of Project:
Brayman Construction was responsible for the
construction of a 6500 sf temporary shoring wall for the new Children’s Hospital Plaza Building located on 45th Street in the Bloomfield area of Pittsburgh.
The shoring consisted of a cantilever and double anchored pile and lagging wall using H-piles and 4” thick timber lagging. The work included the installation of 44 soldier piles placed in 30” diameter caisson holes and 15 soil anchors varying in length between 37 to 45 feet long. The depth of excavation varied from approximately 15 to 30 feet deep.
In addition, Brayman installed the building
foundation consisting of eighty (80) - 30” diameter caissons varying from 14 to 30 feet below subgrade. |
