Scope of Project:
Brayman began installation of dam anchors for Lookout Shoals Dam in the fall of 1999. In all, nine 54-strand anchors in 12” holes, and fifteen 37-strand anchors in 9” holes were installed, ranging in depths from 100 to 135 feet. Each tiedown had to be water tested and the position of each hole alignment checked. Any anchor which did not meet specifications was then consolidation grouted and re-drilled. Brayman also used their concrete expertise to raise the East bulkhead, West bulkhead and West Spillway walls 6 feet, in order to counteract future PMF events. |
