New Stanton Retaining Wall

Location: New Stanton, PA
Owner: Pennsylvania Turpike Commission
General Contractor: Brayman Construction Corporation
Value: $1,200,000
Date Complete: Fall 1998

Scope of Project:

The original plans for a 1,000 LF retaining wall adjacent to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Eastbound lanes called for the construction of a soldier pile lagging tieback retaining wall. Brayman was able to substitute materials and use value engineering to save three (3) months on the length of this project. Overall, Brayman installed 400 soil nails with studded bearing plates, used 15,000 square feet of permanent shotcrete facing and installed a tied-back, cast-in-place concrete facing to produce the finished product.
