Scope of Project:

The Pretty Boy Dam project consists of the drilling, installation and stressing of 38 each bar anchors and 12 ea mid-width holes underwater.  The bar anchors range in length from 50 to 70-feet and to depths approaching 100-feet.  The 5-1/2” diameter drill holes must be core drilled, water tested and redrilled before installing the anchors.  As part of the bar anchor work, Brayman will also install 19 precast concrete cross-beams and steel brackets (wale’s for anchors).  All the work will be performed utilizing divers and working from a barge platform.  Other miscellaneous work includes spall repairs, crack repairs and epoxy injection along the interior walls of the existing gatehouse.  The project is scheduled to run for approximately 15 months.  This dam is the next dam upstream from the Loch Raven Dam project we completed in 2005.
