Scope of Project:

As sub contractor to Graycor, the scope of the contract includes various foundation work for expansion and construction of multiple structures at the USS Clairton Works facility - located in Clairton, Pennsylvania. The initial scope of the contract includes the installation of 16 each micropiles - for a total drilled footage of 1,472 liner feet. As part of the micropile installation, the contract requires two compressive, two tensile, and two lateral load test on a sacrificial micropile. The contract also includes the installation of two (2) each 30 inch diameter caissons at depths averaging 85 feet, and installation of eight (8) each 42 inch diameter caissons at depths also averaging 85 feet deep. A modification to the contract increased the scope of work to include the construction of a braced cantilevered soldier beam retaining wall approximately 60 feet in length.
